We have a fantastic purpose-built Crab production area, run by a specialist team, which houses boilers that cook live Crabs at the precise temperature required for safe harvesting of Crab Meat.
As specialist fish merchants we have the skills to prepare your Crab Meat to a high professional standard by hand-picking in the traditional way, using no machinery, which helps the meat retain a succulent texture and beautiful flavour.
Nothing is wasted – the Crab backs are available for presentation purposes and the pouches make delicious stocks, soups or bisque. Over the winter months we freeze Crabs so you can order meat all year round. They’re hand-picked straight after defrosting so cannot be refrozen.
We carry out routine checks with Westward Laboratories, Callington, to continually ensure our Crab Meat is safe for eating within required shelf life dates. Therefore, it’s important you store Crab Meat at the right temperature in your kitchen larder.
By law, we follow stringent guidelines in a controlled environment to ensure our Crab Meat reaches you in excellent condition, and we always mark Crab Meat bags with use by dates which must be adhered to.
